UNFILED TAX RETURNS
Behind on your tax returns? We’ll help you catch up and move forward.
Missing a year — or several — happens more often than people think: a move, a new business, a hard year, or a return that felt too complicated to start. The sooner you file, the more you limit penalties and interest. At Victoria Bogdanovich CPA, we prepare prior-year returns for individuals and businesses and help you get current without judgment.
Who this is for
- Individuals who haven’t filed for one or more years
- Business owners behind on business and personal returns
- People who received an IRS letter about a missing return
- Taxpayers who are likely owed a refund but never filed
What we handle
- Prior-year returns for individuals and businesses
- Gathering your records — including IRS wage and income transcripts when documents are missing
- Figuring out which years to file and in what order
- IRS notices about unfiled returns — we help you understand and respond to them
- Payment options — help setting up a payment plan if you owe
Why it matters
Penalties grow every month. The IRS charges a failure-to-file penalty and a failure-to-pay penalty, plus interest. The failure-to-file penalty is usually the larger one, so filing — even if you can’t pay in full yet — often reduces what you owe.
Refunds have a time limit. If you were owed a refund, you generally have three years from the original due date to claim it. After that, the money is lost.
The IRS may file for you. If you don’t file, the IRS can prepare a substitute return without your deductions, which usually shows a higher balance.
How it works
- Check your fit — about 1 minute. Answer a few questions and see your starting fee.
- Create your client portal account and complete our Client Application.
- Meet with us — free Tax Discovery Zoom meeting. Upload your last two years of returns at least 24 hours before the meeting so we can discuss an estimated fee range on the call.
- Receive your engagement package with your estimated fee and scope of work. Work begins once you sign.
Starting price
Each late year is priced 20% above our regular fee for that type of return. Late returns with foreign accounts or foreign income start with a paid Initial Consultation. Your engagement package sets out your estimated fee and what it covers. Work outside that scope is billed separately.

How many years do I need to file?
It depends on your situation. Often it’s the last six years, but we’ll review your records and IRS transcripts and recommend a plan.
I can’t pay what I owe. Should I still file?
Yes. Filing on time — even without payment — usually limits the penalties, and payment plans are available.
I have foreign accounts and haven’t filed.
There may be options that reduce penalties. See Foreign Assets & International Tax Reporting and start with a consultation before filing anything.
